Welcome to 2021, dear readers! Here at The Art of Royaling, we are ready for a bit of fun and lightness. 2021 is going to hold its challenges, but a part of resilience is play and connection to remember why we work so hard. So, in that vein this year’s theme is The Royal Year.
Our focus will be on the traditional annual rotation of mainly social events attended by the Queen that provide a framework for Her Majesty’s yearly schedule. There will be some mention of work – and certainly of the work that goes into these events – but frankly we’re not really up for too much seriousness this year; we’ll save the focus on the royal family’s work for a future annual theme.
Admittedly, this is a complicated theme to take up at the start of an uncertain year. How many of these traditional events will still need to be put on hold until 2022, we still don’t know. But, we can still examine past examples to plan for future events and throw ourselves parties at home to help maintain our resolve, keep ourselves and others safe, and to keep up our spirits.
So, dust off those party shoes – you deserve to wear them even at home – and get ready for some royal fun!
